Talc Uses

Talc has many uses.

  • In the making of paper, paint, plastic, electrodes, food, medicine, cosmetics and ceramics.
  • In medicine, talc is used as filler.
  • The talc can be used as a polishing agent in the polishing stage in the white rice process.
  • It is widely used in the ceramic industry both in the body and in the secrets

Calcite / Calcium Carbonate

Calcite is the most common form of natural calcium carbonate (CaCO3) Calcite is colorless  or white when pure.

Calcium carbonate is widely used across various industries such as: –

  • Paper
  • Plastics
  • Paints & coatings
  • Personal health
  • Food & beverage
  • Textile
  • Adhesives and Sealants
  • Pharmaceutical

Kaolin, also called china clay, soft white clay that is an essential ingredient in the manufacture of tableware and is widely used in the making of paper, rubber, paint, and many other products.

Kaolin uses-

Paper Industry: The primary use of kaolin is in the paper industry.

It serves as a paper coating which improves appearance by helping in brightness, smoothing and gloss.

Porcelain & tableware etc, Kaolin still serves as a valuable component in bone- china and other table wares.

Other Uses:  paint, rubber, cable insulation, specialty films and fertilizers.

Barytes

It is the naturally occurring mineral form of barium sulphate. Main properties being its high specific gravity (4.5), very low solubility, it is also non-toxic, chemically and physically unreactive.

Uses of Barytes

  • Glass making
  • Abrasive
  • Foundry sand manufacturing of Ferro
  • silicon, silicon metal, silicon carbide etc
  • Watches and clocks
  • Crucibles
  • Ceramic Industry
  • Synthetic crystals
  • Cable Industries

  • Glass Industry

  • Detergent applications

  • Powder Coating, Paints and Ceramic industry

  • Reinforced Polyester glass fiber

  • Iron, Steel, and Ferro-Alloys Industries

Dolomite

Dolomite is rich in magnesium and calcium carbonate, and has smaller amounts of several other minerals.

Dolomite is used as a source of magnesia (MgO)

The applications of

Dolomite powder is used for :-

  • Soap and detergents
  • PVC pipes
  • Leather Cloth Industry
